    HI John,

    • Upgrade the 7205 controller from AOS 6.x to 8.x require a factory-reset and rebuilt your configuration.
    • Licenses can be migrated through the Aruba Support Portal but require an active support contract.
    • Your AP-205 are end-of-support.
    • ArubaOS 8.6.x.x  is end-of-support,
    • ArubaOS 8.10.0.9 (LSR) is the latest major release which works with your old AP-205.

My opinion is that a upgrade is possible when having an active support contract but better invest in new access points and take a look at the Aruba Central cloud-based management solution.

Contact your local Aruba Partner to discuss what solution best fit your needs.
