  • 1.  7220 Controller OS upgrade (6.4.2.6 to.....?)

    Hello All,

    I have a client that has this:

    Model: Aruba7220-US
    Version: 6.4.2.6

    Model: Aruba7005-US
    Version: 6.4.2.6

    What code version should I upgrade to? Or is 6.4.2.6 ok to keep right now?

    That software version is 7 years old; so I would consider upgrading because of known vulnerabilities in firmware and WiFi protocols that have been fixed in the mean time. Easiest upgrade is to the latest 6.5.4.24 release, check the release notes. If you want to grow further, consider upgrading to 8.x or 10.x, which need more careful planning. Your Aruba partner or Aruba SE can assist in that.

    Please note that an active support contract is needed to download firmware updates.

    6.4.2.x went end of support in 2017.  6.5.4.x is the latest in the 6x series and went end of support yesterday. You'll need to consider going to a supported version of 8.x but need to keep in mind the AOS supported version in the access points you have.

    You could have 100 series AP and some support only AOS up to 6.5 (124/125) while others are supported under 8.6, even though they are all end of support as well.
