  • 1.  802.1X Web-based authentication on CX

    Hi there,

    we are currently migrating a location from HP Procurve Switches to Aruba CX.

    Currently we use the web based authentication feature of those switches (see HP Switch Software Access Security Guide RA.15.18)

    Is there anything like that we could use on CX?

    yes that is available, the last chapter on this technote is for CX switches.

    Hi ariyap,
    thanks for your hint with Clearpass.
    I'm well aware that webauth is possible with that.
    In that specific case we want it to work without any sperate service like with the old switches I mentioned.
    There we only have a webserver hosting the ewa page.

    In CX switches web based authentication is not supported yet. As a alternate captive portal feature can be used for web based authentication. You can refer the Access Security Guide on Captive Portal feature explanation.
