  • 1.  802.1x with Huawei switches best practices?

    Posted Oct 27, 2018 03:34 PM

I remember seeing a document by HPE consultant about configuring Huawei switch for wired 802.1x. It was a HPE/Aruba site, does anyone know of these kinds of documents or where to locate them?

Currently I'm just starting to implement wired 802.1x but seeing problems when the client boots or I bounce the port, the authentication doesn't happen for some reason and the switch waits the default 60s before doing a new authentication.

I though a best practice guide would be a good place to start before starting to tune timers and timeouts randomly :)

Unfortunately we have not tested nor have documentation for Huawei switches.

Others may be able to comment on experience with them.

I'm quite sure it was a HPE/Aruba documentation. Maybe it was the regional teams internal document or something...

We don't have any official Aruba-provided documentation, so it was likely just someone's notes.

    Hi,

Take a look at this URL from Huawei support:

    https://support.huawei.com/enterprise/fr/doc/EDOC1000069520/c2560c8c/interoperation-between-huawei-switches-and-aruba-clearpass.

Attaching the downloaded manual from there just in case it gets removed.
