  • 1.  Adding Fortinet to iMC

    Posted Mar 24, 2016 08:03 AM

SSH info is correct, yet on SSH configuration selection I get only error:

    Failure

    Possible causes:
    1. The device cannot be pinged.
    2. SNMP settings/Telnet settings/SSH settings is incorrect.
    3. Invalid characters are found.
    4. device returns a failure.

Anybody has any idea why & how to fix?

Seems that iMC works great with HP gear, anything else is just a stuggle

It looks like an SNMP problem. Adding Fortinet devices to IMC is trivial, and no easier or harder than an HP device.

Configure SNMP on the Fortinet, and test it using snmpwalk or similar.

    Hi, guys:

     I have the same issue.

Configuring Fortigate 600 to be monitored throught SNMP3 does not work.

    I get the same error:

    Failure

    Possible causes:
    1. The device cannot be pinged.
    2. SNMP settings/Telnet settings/SSH settings is incorrect.
    3. Invalid characters are found.
    4. device returns a failure.

I dont understand the line 2 "2. SNMP settings/Telnet settings/SSH settings is incorrect." why refers to TELNET and SSH settings...??

I have tested  all combinations of authentication/no authentication, privacy, not privacy, short user, longuser, etc. and always get the same error.

I only get working SNMPv1 or SNMPv2 with fortigate but if only complete the READ-ONLY community.

If i complete the read-write community, IMC return the same error as SNMPv3 when try to test with TEST BUTTON.

Using HP IMC 7.2 without patch fixes actually.

Last version of fortinet mibs installed and compiled sucessfully

Any help or hint will be welcomed.

    Regards

    Hugo
