    hi all,

we have currently running airwave 8.2.15.1 (VM)

we have deployed a fresh 8.3 version on our vmware infrastructure from .OVA file.

so i followed the instruction from 8.3 release note on how to migrate.

1 created manual backup on 8.2.15.1

    2 uploaded to file server

    3 downloaded to 8.3

    4 restore backup on 8.3

after 10min or so it gave me the following error:

[Fri Jun 23 16:22:17 CEST 2023] Checking available disk space ...
[Fri Jun 23 16:56:58 CEST 2023] The 0 /var partition is not big enough to hold 108G of data from the backup.
[Fri Jun 23 16:56:58 CEST 2023] Please prune data from the backup and try again. Contact Customer Support for help.

the specs of the vm's are the same

    20 cpu threads

    256GB ram

    2TB ssd (thick provision)

is there a simple command to expand the /var partition? or do i need to create a TAC case?

    Hi,

The install should take care of the partition and no easy option to expand the partition. This would need TAC help to get into shell of the AirWave to do so.

P.S. I would suggest using ISO even for VM installs as OVA file tends to use the space set in the OVA file than the entire disk.
