The long awaited (well maybe not if you don’t pay attention to Xcvr Guides)… is now available on the Aruba Support Portal (ASP) downloads page. 

If you search for the “Transceiver Guide”, make sure you change the Sort by and use “Release Date: New to Old” to have the latest version be displayed 1st.

Note the edition number and date of publication on the bottom of the title page of the document.

• Edition 7, published March 2020 Adds information about 25G products (Xcvrs, DACs and AOCs) along with 40G AOCs Now lists supported transceivers and DACs for the Aruba 6300 and 6400 CX switch series. Adds information about HPE Server DACs that have been tested against the 8325 and 8320 Top of Rack designed switches.

Hi Ed! Since I am one of those that pay attention to Transceivers Guides...that's really a great news! long awaited (indeed I already used it on this thread today discussing about Aruba 8325 and QSFP+ AOC paired with HPE ProLiant QSFP+ NIC).

Worth to note what I wrote at the end:

Two things more...the first is good and the second is bad:

1. Good thing: at page 69 of the guide linked above there is Chapter 7: "Support for HPE Servers and Systems products" and that is a good news, finally (unfortunately statements of support are limited about 10G/25G).
2. Bad thing: at page 69 of the guide linked above there is Chapter 7: "Support for HPE Server and Systems products" and that is a bad news...BECAUSE no matter what I try it is nearly impossible to find the suggested "server networking transceiver and cable compatibility support matrix" by using hpe.com or support.hpe.com as the document reports...and that is, IMHO, very bad...linked documents, especially those that are "compatibility matrix", MUST BE found very easily and not the contrary!

The reason why I say it is very bad is, in my opinion, because it's a shame to see one requires Google's search capabilities to find what HPE/Aruba claims it has published somewhere...instead of simply using the embedded search features of their portals.

Do a test and search "server networking transceiver and cable compatibility support matrix" on hpe.com or support.hpe.com...zillions of results and nothing relevant...then do the same and search "server networking transceiver and cable compatibility support matrix" by using Google...immediately you will find https://h20195.www2.hpe.com/V2/getpdf.aspx/A00002507ENW.pdf

The Search does work for me...  see below screen scrape.  (fyi I used Chrome on Win10 in case that matters)

I believe it's due because I'm EMEA based and any attempt to land on US hpe.com (or to the "Global" hpe.com) gets forwarded to EMEA hpe.com with this result (Chrome):

or to Italian hpe.com with this very same result (Chrome):

And the Google (Firefox):

So, in both cases, the result doesn't look working on a search done against a non US portal (well, for sure it's not working against EMEA/Italy country portals). Could the culprit be indexing on country portals (not necessarily language localized other than in english)?

Attempts I've done now (screenshots above were taken few minutes ago) are pretty much consistent with tests done twelve hours ago when I looked for that document while I was writing on the thread.

Test are identical using Firefox or Chrome (I'm not behind a corporate proxy, just based on EMEA).

By the way...this 7th edition of the guide is very welcome and you're a legend...what will be nice to see is a sort of updated compatibility matrix polarized to the Aruba Switching world (AOS/AOS-CX) bound to the HPE Server/Storage world...I think networking/server administrators which are considering Aruba for they DC solutions for the first time deserve such type of document(s) (especially if they plan to use HPE Servers and/or Storage solutions).

We are indeed working toward a more cooperative effort between Aruba and our Server & Storage brethren -- Chapter 7 in this guide is the result of cooperative certification efforts between our business units.   More to come over the following months. 

I'm working with the Server PLM to get our Aruba Cables listed on the (hard to find) "server networking transceiver and cable compatibility support matrix" file .

How soon we get the unsupported-transceiver command to AOS-CX ? Due to COVID-19 it's really painful to try to get 3rd party Aruba compatible optics from China as they have such a long lead time.

Getting originals is out of the question as the prices are so horrible for longer distance optics. We'd rather replace the switches than pay for those SFP+ prices.
