Wireless Access

Hi Guys 

I haven't had much experience with external antennas , I am using

AP 314 With 4 (AP-ANT-1W 2.4-2.5GHz (4dBi)/4.9-5.875GHz (6dBi) Hi Gain Dual-band Omni-Dir Indoor Antenna) , i have some difficulty to configure antenna gain while AP  provision , I mounting AP along the walls (see attached) to provide room coverage , problem that the wall material is concrete or cinder block?  I've read that mounting APs against the wall can be bad, especially if the material is reflective

I tried to provision ap with max antenna gain but i got leak on coverage (Hope any body can help on this )

The second problem that all My AP (314,303H) is showing flag r which is mean the antenna on power restricted mode as well the power led is amber which strange for me , i am using cisco 2960 POE switch and some other Cisco switches with POE plus

You should avoid hallway deployments of Access Points whenever possible, exactly for the reason you observed. Place APs where your users are, in most cases that is not in the corridors. This applies even more if you have high attenuating walls (which the diagram you attached does not really reflect; is this a simulation or active survey measurement?) like concrete walls. Also mounting on the ceiling instead of to the wall is better in general as you are higher and have less obstructions around you.

Then on the configured antenna gain, that should be set to the value on the antenna's (4 and 6 dB according to your text). Don't put different values there as it may lead in poor coverage or in a regulatory violation.

For the power led, it should be fine on PoE+ power source, but if you enable IPM (Intelligent Power Management), I would expect these APs to run fine on standard PoE power.
