Thanks for your response. I guess the two gateways present in the cluster will upgrade one after another so there won't be any downtime during gateway upgrade. The downtime will only happen when AP upgrades and reboot. We have over 300 APs, when we use "Upgrade All" option would all of them download image from central at the same time? Our WAN bandwidth should be enough to handle this, but just wondering if there is any staggering (time spaced) or "ALL" access points start image download simultaneously.

with AOS10, if the gateways are in a cluster, there will be minimum downtime.

APs and gateways should work across versions 10.3 & 10.4, so don't think there is a recommendation in upgrade order.
It should even be possible to do your own 'live upgrade' by selecting specific APs and gateways and upgrade those separately to keep some form of availability. Does not work in large networks of course.

Subject: AOS-10 upgrade question
Hi All,
We have AP-535 and two Gateways model A7220. We are currently running 10.3.1.3 on both AP and Gateways using Aruba Central. I would like both to upgrade to 10.4.0.2. It will be a maintenance window upgrade (not Live upgrade option, which is only available on advance license as per docs). Is there any recommendation if Gateway should be upgraded first or AP? I did not find anything in the docs, I am planning to upgrade Gateways first and then APs. Please share if you have any experience in upgrading AOS-10 using central.
Thanks,
