We have two 72xx gateways configured for tunneling SSID traffic for campus APs.      The gateways are configured for the "mobility" persona in central.

Can these controllers terminate remote APs (microbranch) for a L2 SSID tunnel?   The gateways aren't showing up in the list for the microbranch group SSID.    There are only 1 or 2 microbranch APs, so I hope they won't require a dedicated controller for this functionality since both functionalities could be configured in AOS8.

If the problem is the controllers having the "mobility" persona, is there another persona that would allow the environment to tunnel campus AP SSIDs and terminate a few remote AP tunnels?

no you can't, the personas should be VPNC.
