Hello,
We're currently using a test instance of Central and GreenLake with the idea of trialing AOS10. Our trial cluster will comprise of 2x 7220 gateways to start with. Both gateways have been added into GreenLake and a subscription applied to each one - both have appeared in the Central dashboard and placed into a group.
What is the mechanism for the gateway to then contact Central? Is this done during the manual set up of each gateway, much like how it is done in AOS8, when the conductor IP address is added during controller initial set up? There is no clear hostname/IP for the Central test instance, so this adds another layer of confusion for gateway/AP discovery.
Each gateway has been added with it's MAC and serial no. but there is no reference to IP address, is this also picked up during initial gateway set up?
Our plan is to have a small /29 range for testing purposes with up to 4 gateways. Assuming a gateway only needs an IP address for the box and another for the COA. Does this sound logical? Also, a cluster address has been taken into consideration on the basis that this is still required?
PS. We're not currently looking into ZTP and Aruba Activate for onboarding gateways/APs if this is not essential & if there's any useful documentation regarding the best practices for AOS10/Central/GreenLake initial deployment? I've seen lots of documentation but nothing regarding the above.
