Having read the release notes for Aruba Instant 8.10 and 8.11 it seems the AP-345s I have here are not supported by 8.11 according to the release notes, but wondering what it means by the note in 8.11 where it says this:

Attempting to install Aruba Instant 8.11.0.x firmware on the aforementioned APs may cause these APs to disconnect themselves from the current cluster and form a new cluster running the software version available in the partition.

Given there is a "Draco" firmware for the AP-510 etc which is the same name (and code), does an AP-345 in the same cluster end up booting 8.11 or whatever it had before if you do this?

What is more confusing is that Aruba Central offers 8.11.0 as a firmware upgrade option (the APs in question here are managed in Aruba Central), so now even more confused as to whether 8.11.x would break something if installed on these APs or if it will work at all (given they're not meant to be supported).
In my case the cluster only contains AP-345 APs (I do have a AP-505H but not joined to that cluster).

It'd be nice if 8.11 did work on these APs (they were purchased I think back around 2018 I think) but can live with 8.10 otherwise (though would consider trying it if 8.11 did work on a standalone unit which I may have spare).

here is the relevant info from the product announcement page

also when you try to download firmware for AP-345 from ASP, it does not list 8.11 at all.

I realise the official documentation says 8.11 is not supported on the 340 series, but why then does Aruba Central offer it (or does it simply show all available firmwares, without regard to what APs are in a cluster... even though ours only contains AP-345 devices)?

The question was more what actually happens on the AP when you try to apply it - does it reject it or something else happens (eg. if another admin accidentally selects to upgrade the APs to 8.11 in Aruba Central, given it shows as an option)?
Or if one tries to apply the firmware file downloaded for the AP-510 given it is the same naming convention (and series?)
    ie. ArubaInstant_Draco_8.11.0.0_85179

In short, would the AP reject it, load it and actually boot it (potentially with unpredictable results?), or could we end up with a bricked AP [which I would hope not]?
Reason is while I know the APs are not supported on 8.11, some of the admins here might not realise this (especially since Aruba Central shows it as an option).
