Trying to determine expected behavior of the AP 387 Bridge. Configuration is AP-387 Point to Point Mesh: AP-387 in InstantOS in Standalone Mesh Mode.
Location A : Client IP (a) and Client IP (b) <- -> 2930F#1 Int#1--- AP 387 – (P2P) – AP 387 --- 2930F#2, Int#2 <–> Location B (fyi, FW IP B (layer 2)).
"Once an IP address has been learned on one side of the bridge, moving the device to the other side renders it unreachable through the bridge." (Move Client IP B to 2930#2).
Previous troubleshooting steps to come to that conclusion:
- Swap the bridge link with a patch cable between the 2 switches (same ports): everything functions as expected, so focusing the issue solely on the AP-387 pair.
- Reboot the bridge pair when the device is unreachable: device is reachable again after reboot, but not anymore if moved back to the original side. This tells us that the issue is not directional, side A & B behave the same.
- Try to reach the test IP (when unreachable from one side) from both 387 interfaces directly: Can reach it at all times from the bridge on which side the IP is currently on (through the wired network), but not from the other bridge endpoint (through the mesh link), so connectivity is definitely lost on the mesh link.
Appreciate your thoughts. Thanks
