Will I get the same range results if I use a high gain antenna that only plugs into one of the 420's antenna connections as I will if I use a high gain antenna of the same dBi that plugs into both of the 420's connections.

Also does anyone have any suggestions for antenna solutions. I'm trying to increase the range of the 420 to get through a concrete exterior wall and about 6 pine trees. Preferably I would like to use a omnidirectional antenna that gives me atleast a 1,000' radius after the above interference.

    Hi Mathew,

If you are having that big of a problem even after using external gain antennas, try a repeater by a 3rd party...

WhenI hooked up my Hawking antenna I gained about 15db's on my router picking up signals as far away as a mile (and further)...

Right now I'm waiting on my supplier to send some test antennas so I can do some range testing w/ the 420's I allready have prior to implementing the onese that I'm purchasing. What's the model/type of antenna that your using now? Also does your antenna plug into only one of or both of the antenna ports on the 420?

I got the 15db gain right off the bat.

    Points?

Points are a way of saying thank you to the person that has helped you with your problem.

Only the question author can assign points to a given response. You will see a dropdown menu of points next to the reply (you must be logged in to see the menu). Select the point value and then click the "submit points" button.

Note that you can rate multiple replies and submit them at one time. That way you can assign more than ten points to any one user for their reply.
