  • 1.  AP 550 tri radio mesh

    Hi - with the AP 550 tri-radio mode doing mesh, can we have one 5GHz as the mesh backhaul link, and the other 5GHz + 2.4GHz radios serving client devices?

    Hi,

    Please note that as of 8.6.0.0, mesh is supported over first 5g Radio (Channels 36-64) once split-5g is enabled. Second 5g radio (channels 100-161) will be used for client-access.

    Has any one tested? in specific the doc only mentions both at AP mode or AP+AM AP + SM:

     

    "The two radios can work on AP mode and also work on AP+ AM or AP+ Spectrum mode, where one radio provides wireless access and the other radio performs scanning."

     

    or can we assume AP mode includes Mesh operation?

     

    additional question:

    can it be mesh+mesh...  good for multihop.... meshpoint on one channel - then be a mesh portal on an alternate channel for next hop?
