  • 1.  AP-605 6GHz 6GHz not enabled

    Hello experts,

We just received our AP-605s and noticed that when we powered up one device, it was not broadcasting 6GHz

We assigned the AP to the same AP group as that of AP-635s and even AP-634s (6GHz enabled but not operational)

Wanted to know if AOS 8.12.0.0 supports the AP-605 or we need to upgrade to some other image.

    Thanks,

    Alex

605H APs only have two radios. They cannot do 2.4, 5 and 6GHz at the same time.

You can select which radios are used in the AP System profile at Flex Dual Band Mode. Automatic keeps that up to Airmatch if i understand it correctly.

I do not know though if changing this setting will have an impact on tri-radio APs in the same AP Group.

That's right. Need to set the flex dual band mode in the ap-sys-prof to include 6 GHz if automatic is not converting radios. The options are documented here: https://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ArubaOS_8.12.0_Web_Help/Content/arubaos-solutions/access-points/conf-ap-syst-prof.htm?Highlight=flex#Configur

When the setting is automatic, only a certain percent of flex radios will be converted to 6 GHz and only if RF for 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz (in that order) are determined to be covered adequately.
