    Hi All

Aruba Controllers are configured in VRRP as Active/Standby. Aruba OS version 8.10.0.12

I configured AP Fast Fail over through HA tab and configure LMS IP on Controller but its not working.

I can see both controller IP on show ap database command but can't see HA configuration on standby Controller.

Any support or suggestions are highly appreciated

The suggestion is to not use AP Fast Failover. If you are wanting redundancy, either live with VRRP, LMS/B-LMS, or deploy as a cluster to get full seamless support.

which is better VRRP or LMS/B-LMS for less failover time?

    Hi Carson

Thanks for clarifying. It is communicated to customer that it is not recommended but customer wants to test the feature.

Customer requirement is to create minimal downtime during VRRP fail-over between controllers without having Mobility Conductor.

During VRRP fail over, the AP should fails over to the tunnel to the standby controller without reboot of the AP and the radios MUST stay active.

Well, that'd be AP high availability.

    Hi Chulcher

thanks for replying. Even after configuring LMS and Backup LMS IP of Physical IP of controllers on Mobility Controller level AP bootstrap during VRRP fail-over, please suggest.

I need one more suggestion. can we configure Active/Standby Controller with Mobility Conductor and AP fast fail-over setup on Aruba OS8.

Yes, that's the case, and why I indicated that based on your requirement of "without reboot of the AP and the radios MUST stay active" that AP high availability was the solution.

If they have an MCR, then why are they not going with a cluster when the cluster is the preferred and best method for high availability?

VRRP should be faster discovery, haven't monitored such in a long time so not sure which has less impact on the AP.
