    Hey everyone,

I'm facing an issue with all my access points that are managed by an Aruba Controller. Every minute, the APs keep going UP and DOWN, but I can still ping their IP addresses.

I've tried rebooting both the controller and the access points, but the issue persists.

Can anyone help? What logs should I check on the controller to diagnose this problem?

    Thanks!

Have you tried opening a case with TAC?

If you're seeing the APs flapping but the APs themselves aren't rebooting, that indicates the heartbeat between AP and controller is getting interrupted or dropped.  There should be log entries corresponding with this.

From the controller CLI , you can use the "show ap debug system-status ap-name <flapping-AP-name> command to see quick details on what is happening

The output is quite lengthy, but the first page or so will have sections for rebootstrap and failover information. If the AP has lost heartbeats to the controller, you will see those events here.

Which ArubaOS are you running on the Controller?
Do you have any Firewall or Access List sitting in between the Controller and APs? If yes, you need to enable mandatory ports for AP to communicate with the Wireless Controller.

Also, check your license counts! If you have more APs than licenses, the system may randomly flap some of them up and down as it shifts which ones it thinks have a license. (Disclaimer: I saw this behavior years ago on Aruba 6; I have not replicated it on Aruba 8!)
