thanks for getting back.
thank you i found those excellent posts and we managed to convert an AP315.
I used the convert and specifically the tftp method to convert (on the CLI).
i used the link where "ariyap" (sorry don't know his name) replied and i followed this process and it worked just fine.

Pete,
We just went through this process 4 months ago. as already mentioned in other most excellent posts you have to convert them.
I'll add my warning here, as it isn't posted elsewhere. You have to have a controller in order to convert the 315 AP's they must be connected to it.
Once our controllers were converted to AOS 10 and added to Central our spare 314/315 APs became bricks with no way to convert them.
I did hear from Aruba that there is a way, but it is not easy and requires physical serial console access to each AP, a bunch of undocumented commands in the bootloader of the AP, uncompressed firmware files loaded from a TFTP server etc... not worth the time and energy on an older AP.

hi Techies,
we have a customer with Aruba CAMPUS AP315 Access Points.
They want to put them on Aruba Central.
quick question,
if we de-register them from the Aruba controller.
put them on a separate VLAN, will they boot up (by default) looking for Aruba Central?
regards
Pete
