    Hi Folks

I work with cisco switches connecting in AP Aruba 228 and 225 thro Instant system. Works fine

Due a project of security cameras, I need to conect cisco switch with new Aruba instant on 1930 swicth 24ports. In this aruba I am trying to connect an AP 228. However even configre vlans, trunk the AP doesn´t work

So, cisco switch can talk with Aruba by ping, but I can´t configure to pass the Vlans across 1930 for AP get IPs.

Could you help me how can I do this configuration?

Let me know if you need more details

    Thank you in advance

    Wilson

Aruba InstantON isa  different productline and the Support Community page is under this link
    https://community.instant-on.hpe.com/communities/community-home?CommunityKey=561498fa-2e5d-44bf-a6b5-837d92ce0e15

Also, in Aruba InstantON you need to configure the port as untagged and the VLAN you want the AP to be placed.

    Untagged means no trunk ?

To make it more simple: untagged port is equivalent to an access port on a Cisco switch

However, which VLAN do you want to have on the Aruba InstantON Switch?

Configuring Trunk mode in Aruba 1930 instantON means you need to do the port with Tagged Configuration.

So for Trunk concept in Cisco, you have to configure: Tagged and add the tags 7, 50, 61, 62

For Access concept in Cisco, you have to configure: Untagged and add the tag 50

The configuration you see in the diagram is done, however, my AP doesn´t receive IPs from core. Thas the problem, I know how I can configure Vlans in Instant, but I don´t understand why the IPs don't arrive to AP

It is hard to troubleshoot a scenario without having proper configuration checkup. Potentially, there might be a missing configuration of a DHCP Helper, or other related issues. What you can try is:
    1. Remove the AP Uplink, connect it on a Laptop and try if the laptop is getting DHCP. If yes, then you need to check the InstantON AP Configuration which were previously configured. Maybe you need to perform an AP Factory Reset.

    2. If the Laptop is not getting DHCP as well, you need to troubleshoot the whole cascade links.

I understand you. however everything works if I put a cisco switch in place of the aruba. I'm trying to get the cisco to talk to the aruba.
I know how to configure from cisco to cisco, but when I put the aruba the AP does not receive the IP of the core and everything seems correctly configured, because I do trunk on port 41 of the cisco that carries the vlnas 50,61 and 62 and then on port 24 of the aruba I do trunk and put the vlnas 50,61 and 62 and even so the AP that is on port 23 does not receive the IP from core. Thats wierd for me

I have multiple network infrastructure containing combinations of Cisco and Aruba InstantON and i have never experienced such issues.
As said, if you seek more information related to Aruba InstantON, the Aruba Airheads is not the right Community to seek detailed answers.

You should check and post on the Aruba InstantON Community, which is: https://community.instant-on.hpe.com/communities/community-home?CommunityKey=561498fa-2e5d-44bf-a6b5-837d92ce0e15

    Which one should I choose?

\InstantOn - Wired (For the Switch) since think there is potentially a misconfiguration somewhere in the Switch, which is covered in the Instant On - Wired section

    Try to do the following:

    Cisco port 41  (trunk with vlan 50, 61, 62) -> Aruba Switch (tagged 50,61 and 62)
Aruba Switch port 24 where the AP is connected -> Untagged 50

I did trunk on cisco port 41 passing vlan 50,61,62

I did tagged on aruba port 24 passing vlan 50,61,62

I did untagged on aruba port 23 passing vlan 50

results: AP doesn't work  (NOTE: in Aruba my vlan management is 1) if I change this to another vlan I can't ping the aruba anymore

    Hey Morning!

We decide to replace aruba to cisco.

    Thank you for your help

Good to hear that you found a 'solution'. If you would have asked the question in the right (HPE Instant ON) forum, I'm confident that you would have been able to find it working.

HPE Instant ON is not Aruba as most people on this forum use; the name is somewhat confusing, but as mentioned multiple times you used the wrong place to ask questions.
