What you normally do is to broadcast the same SSID on both bands, and the clients that can will use the 5GHz band and clients that are 2.4GHz only will take the 2.4GHz.
If you want different SSIDs that broadcast on just a single band, you can change that in the RF Profile:
To see the profiles, you will need to enable 'Advanced Settings' it's under your username to the top-right, then Preferences.
g = 2.4GHz; a= 5GHz. Then just create two virtual APs and you can select for each if it needs to be on 2.4 / 5 / both.

Subject: Aruba 535 2.4Ghz / 5Ghz Separate SSID
Hello Community,
I am currently trying to achieve the following with Aruba AP 535 and a WLC 7205:
Separate SSID for the frequency bands:
SSID 5Ghz
SSID 2.4 GHZ
Ideally the 5Ghz can run in AX mode (Wifi6) and the 2.4Ghz can only provide b/g/n for legacy devices.
What is the best way to go about this? I've tried a lot of things but so far I haven't found a viable solution.
