  • 1.  Aruba Central Cloud Guest - Sending of verification email takes very long time

    Hi Community,

    I use Aruba Central with Cloud Guest and the email verification feature.
    Until last week (probably around september 19th - not sure about the exact date), everything worked without any problems. But currently it takes about 20 minutes to get the verification e-mail. Is there a known problem here? Aruba Central Region is EU.
    As a workaround, I have currently set the free wifi access to 30 minutes so that the email arrives within this time.

    I tried to open a Case but there ist also a problem at the networking portal (Unable to fetch open cases data. Http failure response for https://networkingsupport.hpe.com/api/v1/casemgmt/case/list: 500 OK) so creating a new case is also failing at the moment ^^

    Were you able to work with support?

    Has the delay in mail been investigated and addressed?

    One reason that I could think of is 'greylisting' at the receiving mail provider. Greylisting is an anti-spam method where the receiving mailservice (most times the email provider for the receiver) temporarily rejects mail messages from senders that don't send messages regularly. The idea behind that is that spammers just give up after the first attempt and continue with another target that immediately works, where mail for legitimate accounts is just retried a few times where at one point it is accepted.

    Hi Herman, thanks for your reply.

    No, Greylisting was not the solution. I opened a TAC case, they told me that it was a known Bug (aruba Bug-ID: GCD-2532). But now it is fixed and working as expected.
