  • 1.  Aruba Central - How to upgrade Firmware on single device?

    Hi Airheads,

How do I upgrade the firmware on a single device in Central these days?

When I follow the instructions in this link:

    Upgrading Devices

I can't select "one or more devices from the device list", nor do I get the "Upgrade icon at the bottom of the page"?

Unfortunately that link only describes the process for switches in a group or at the global level. There is a reference to the link I posted above for individual devices, but it is not accurate for Central 2.5.5 at least. The options are no longer there to upgrade a device individually.

ok so basically you go to global->Firmware
then select AP/Switch or gateway tab, then you hover your muse over it and click on the upgrade aup-arrow

    OK I see the issue...

I can only set the firmware on a single or selection of devices if firmware compliance hasn't been set at the group level.

I tested this on a switch that is a member of a group that doesn't have firmware compliance set and it the upgrade arrow appears just as it did in your screenshot.

This makes sense - thanks heaps!
