Hello Guys, We got switches and APs with Aruba Central license. I have few questions regarding it.

    1. Do we need a local Agent/Probe to Aruba Central to communicate with devices?

    2. Do we need to configure anything on devices ?

    3. How Aruba Central find that devices ?

I need to understand the mechanism of Aruba Central?

    Thanks,

    Hey there,
You should have gotten a License entitlement certificate that gives you a subscription key with an expiration date. You can also get on Central with 90 day free trial.
But basically you need to sign up to Central by going to this url.
    https://portal-prod2.central.arubanetworks.com/platform/signup/registration#/SIGNUP

Follow the instructions & activate your account.
Then you have to add your licenses.
Make sure you have the Serial number and mac-addresses of the AP's you want to use in Central. It takes definitely a few minutes for the APs to populate into Central.
    Hope this helpful.

    Hi,

Please  sign up to Central with your region. Please find the answers inline

    https://portalprod2.central.arubanetworks.com/platform/signup/registration#/SIGNUP.

    1. Do we need a local Agent/Probe to Aruba Central to communicate with devices?

Only thing device should be able to reach activate to get the central account  details and devices will establish websocket connection with central.

Below cli help to check the connection status on AP to activate and central

    show activate

    show ap debug cloud-server

    2. Do we need to configure anything on devices ?

As mentioned above if device is reachable to activate, you don't need to configure anything on device. Once devices are up , you can push configuration from central.

    3. How Aruba Central find that devices ?

Since devices are shipped and they should be added in activate.

Once you add device to central , Central check with activate  and it will be mapped with your central account.

    Hope this is helpful

    Thanks
