    Hi,

I have two aruba 8320 switches, which I want to stack similiar like a ifr-stack (Comware).

I only need these switches for layer 2 connection to connect some servers. The switches should be connected to a Firewall, which is the layer 3 routing device.

    Hi,

The 8320 use VSX Stacking, you can look VRD ref guide for how to configure

(there is always 2 management controller with VSX)

Here is a good video expaining vsx.

It is different then irf/vsf because it does NOT merge/virtualize the control plane of both switches into 1. Control plane is always separated and the maximum number of cluster nodes is limited to 2 devices.

    thanks for your quick reponses.

Do I need to use the active gateway configuration in this setup?

    Regards

if the switch is only Layer 2, don't need Active Gateway
