  • 1.  Backup and restore UI group config

I just learned the hard way how easy it is to mess up a UI group config and bring down the whole network in the matter of seconds...

Now I would like to know how could I create a snapshot of the configuration which I could bring back just as easily. Would be nice to have a UI option for this but I'd be happy with something like cfg-backup, cfg-restore.

What are my options for UI group configuration backup / restore?

    Are you using IAPs(/Central)?

Is taking a flashbackup and exporting it to an external storage server an option?

    Only using switches, mostly 2530

I came up with this idea, let me know if this would work.

Once the initial configuration of a group is finished, I can clone it, essentially creating a snapshot. For example SW_GRP1 would be cloned to SW_GRP1_Backup_10-22-19. This can be done after any major change made to the group. If the next chanage causes problems, I should be able to move the switches to one of teh backup groups, and quickly restore service.

I'm not sure how Aruba Central reconciles conflicting settings or whether additional steps would be required here (like resetting the switch to factory default).
