    Hello,

I am challenged in getting this cnfiguration working:

    • 3 AP controllerless environment
    • Aruba OS 8.5.0.2
    • Workstations needing to print are on WLAN x_main VLAN 2
    • Priner is WLAN x_printer VLAN 10
    • AP's are on different ports on the same L2 switch
    • AirGroup is enabled, Bonjour is enabled, airprint is enabled
    • Multicast filtering is disabled for the 2 networks in question

    What I see is this

    • The printer and workstations establish connections on the various AP's on their respective WLAN
    • The AP the printer attaches to shows up when doing a `show airgroup servers' and 'show airgroup cache entries'
    • The workstations attached to the same AP as the printer see the printer and are able print
    • Additional ports had to be opened between the 2 VLAN subnets to allow scanning and status functions (EG supply levels).
    • The workstations attached to a different AP are not able to see the printer, and are unable to print
    • The APs that the printer is not attached to does not show up when I issue a 'show airgroup servers' or 'show airgroup cache entries'

Any thoughts or further configuration is appreciated.

    Thank you

One additional note. When I change the VLAN on the x_printer network to the same VLAN as the workstatioons and turn off airgroup, everything works fine for all workstatioons reegardless of which AP they are connected to.

For the AP(IAP?) where it is not working, check to see if drop broadcast/multicast option has been enabled for the VAP profile?

If it is enabled then disable it so as to allow mdns traffic.

I am using the updated GUI to check this.

Both "networks" (x_main and x_printer) have broadcast filtering disabled. I needed to do this to have the printer work on the same VLAN.

Is there some other place to look or a CLI command that may shed some light on this?

    Thank you

Are you using IAP or AP?

Note: IAP uses instantos and AP uses arubaos

    Instant OS. I have 2 315 IAP's and 1 207IAP. Again 8.0.5.2

Thank you. I am pretty new to Aruba, so pardon some of the misses on the proper terminology

    Thanks for the confirmation.

Are you able to see mdns traffic between the problematic printer and the client in the datapath session ? (look for port 5353)

command : show datapath session | include <ip of problematic printer>

    No I don't see it.

I just tested it again, and when the printer and device looking for the printer are on the same IAP, it is able to print, and when on a different IAP, no luck.

Again, for completeness, when I set the VLAN on the printer network to the same VLAN as the devices, it all seems to be working fine, regardless of what IAP's anything is connected to.

    Thank you

The reason it works in the same vlan is because it's in the same broadcast domain.

Other vlans need to be allowed in the airgroup configuration.

Are the other vlans in the list of allowed vlans?

Also are the IAPs deployed in a cluster or are they deployed as standalone IAPs?

What is the output of the following commands.

    show airgroup status

    show airgroup vlan

    show airgroup debug statistics

I've attached a file with the output of

    show airgroup status

    show airgroup debug statistics

    show airgroup internal-state

    show airgroup swarm-info

show airgroup vlan is not a supported command in this version of the os.

The 192.168.200.x node is the printer and the devices wanting to print are on 192.168.50.x
