    Ahoi,

I have one IAP315 and a few IAP215 here. I want to build a controllerless cluster with them. From what I understand I just have to setup one (I choose the 315) and then just boot the others in the same network with factory reset. They should just join the cluster and work. This is what I was told but nothing works at all.

In the GUI of my 315 I can't even click the + symbol for new APs. The 215 that boot up elect themselves as master and nothing talks to each other.

I can't find any official docs on how this is supposed to work. Can anyone help?

Are they in the same vlan?

Are they image versions same for both the IAPs?

215 come with 4.1.1.0 and 315 come with 4.3.0.0 as default.

Have you upgraded the 215 to match the image version of the 315?

The 315 runs 8.5.0.2, the 215 run 8.3.0.9. I tried to update the 215 to 8.5 but that didn't work.

The APs are connected to a port with VLAN 1 untagged which they can use to connect to their gateway and several other VLANS tagged which they should use for the different networks.

This is how I set up the initial 315 and that works.
