  • 1.  can 2824 archive that?

I have 4 lan: finance, IT, HR department and server. Therefore i create 4 vlan. finance and hr lan only able to connect to server lan. IT can access finance, hr and server lan.

can procurve 2824 do that with layer 3 basic routing?

    thanks

I do not think that the 2824 has support for Access Control Lists unfortunaly, so it can only do the basic routing between the LANs.

    Hi Ricn,

    Thank for replied.

in this case, can i configure static routing on switch which route IT lan to hr LAN, server LAN and finance LAN? and also route hr LAN to server LAN and finance LAN to server LAN?

    Thanks for advice.

    hi,
you can do basic routing, but then every vlan can reach each other vlan.
just activate ip routing and add a static route to your default gateway.
if you want for example the hr-lan to just reach the server-lan you would need ACL and that is not possible with the 2800 switch.

If it is just the one switch, you might be able to use the Source Port Filters feataure.
