We have a remote Office where the Wireless Infrastructure stopped working.  This remote office was using very old MSM71- Wireless Controller and the controller itself is not longer functional.  We believe the HP-Wireless Access point is still functional; but the question we have is:

Can we connect an HP MSM466 Dual Radio 802.11n Access Point to and Aruba 7030 Wireless Controller running version 8.10.0.2 ?

I am thinking that these 2 platforms are not compatible; but, I need to verify this for management.  If it is compatible then that would be very good news.  We just would need to connect the Access Point to authenticate using our Radius Authentication Servers in our office instead of using the Remote Office.

1).  The Model Number of the HP - Access Point is J9622A.  The Antenna Model Number is: J9659A

2).  The Model Number of the Hardware Controller is 7030 - version 8.10.0.2

3).  The Virtual Aruba Mobility Master is Aruba MM-VA and it is configured in Campus Mode.

4).  The 7030 controller and the HP MSM466 are in different offices that communicate over IPSEC Tunnel and Amazon Web Services (Internet).

           a.  The offices are located in South Korea and the Midwest Unites States of America.

Let me know if you have any questions.

No.  Completely different hardware/software.  Even if compatible, the regulatory requirements wouldn't allow the operation.

    Hi.

Carlson already answered. No you can't control MSM APs with Aruba controllers. If AP is still good, you can switch it into autonomous mode and it will operate standalone.

Due to age of this AP it's recommended that you just replace it with current Aruba AP like 6xx or 5xx series.

If we setup the HP Access point in a standalone fashion.  Could we get the users to authenticate with the Radius servers in the Midwest - US headquarters?   https://community.hpe.com/hpeb/attachments/hpeb/wireless-e-series-forum/1851/1/802.11n%20Access%20Points%20Quickstart.pdf

We do communicate with the office over IPSEC tunnels and BGP through the internet and BGP.

    Hi Stavros.

unfortunately I can't help you with that as I usually don't work with MSMs.
