This video series may help. It is about getting APs to AOS 10, but if in the second video instead of selecting the AOS10 firmware, you select 8.10.0.6, the AP will be downgraded.
It's hard to tell from a distance why the factory reset does not work. It may be that your upgrade happened twice or so, overwriting the backup image used for factory reset as well. If you have a console cable (special orange USB to AP serial console connector), you could check the installed firmware version from the apboot menu. But it may be more important to get back to a working situation.

ArubaOS 10.x uses Central Cloud management for operations, and there is no local management.
A factory reset should get you back to the previous running firmware, not sure why that is not the case with your AP.
Probably easiest way to get back to AOS 8 is to activate a trial for Aruba Central, register & subscribe your AP such it gets managed by Central. Once it is in Central, downgrade the firmware to an 8.X version. Then unsubscribe the AP again if you want to have local management.

Recently purchased access points and were upgraded to gemini 10.3.1.4_86211. After this happened i try to factory reset using reset button and it does not work. Also it stopped displaying the set_me_up ssid used for logging in. Kindly assist with any way forward. It only blinks amber on power button.
