I'm trying to upgrade firmware on the 2930F switches, like I've always done, but this time I keep getting this error.

I tried different switch, but same error.  I downloaded the file from official Aruba firmware page (https://networkingsupport.hpe.com/downloads), like I've always done.

All my 2930F switches have the same version, WC.11.0018, and I'm trying to upgrade them to WC.11.0020.

    I'm downloading the WC_16_11_0020.swi file.

I also tried WC.11.0019, but that also brings the same error.

According to the release notes, there's no changes from 0018 to 0020, but it still should let me upgrade right?

    Never had this issue before.

Correction, there is that on the PDF, and I'm using the webui because that's what I always used.  And it says to use a CLI command, but do I need to have a tftp server for this?

It looks like this is for upgrading from 0018 to 0019, but I'm going from 0018 to 0020

Ok I figured it out.  I downloaded the free SolarWinds TFTP server, and used this command and reboot the switch.

copy tftp flash 10.0.0.166 "WC_16_11_0020.swi" primary

I was able to update 7/9 switches using the command, but 2 of the switches are showing this below and can't update.

Server returned error 1024. Wrong block number.

TFTP can be a bit unreliable... if there is a lower MTU somewhere in the path between the client and server, it may not work or work unreliable. Are there possibly a lot of switches (or a firewall/router/WAN) in between the switches that fail and your TFTP server?

If you have a sftp server (SSH), you may try to copy it from there.

No, not a lot of switches or anything between those 2 switches that failed.

I was able to upgrade from cli switches that were uplinks from the 2 failed.

May be I'll try connecting a laptop directly to those 2 switches to see if it works.

I used tftpd64 and I was able to update the 2 switches using that.
