Central Guest Splash Page Limitations

    Hi All,

    I am putting together a Guest network for a client and am designing the splash page for guest login. Simply put is there any way (perhaps with HTML design) to edit the splash page beyond the simple defaults in Central Guest. Ideally I would like to add changing background images and be able to line up the page title text a bit better.

    The guest pages in Central Cloud Guest are 'simple' by design. If you want full control, you could create your own external captive portal, for example with ClearPass Guest, but if it's a 'click-to-accept' page, you can also host it on any (reachable from the guest network) web server.

    Thanks for the reply Herman,

    It's great that there is a simple designer for splash pages, and I appreciate that ClearPass will tick all the boxes for polished captive portals, however I feel that the simple is too simple and restricting. All I really want to do is align the Login Page Title properly, as you can see in the screenshot it's a bit clumsy. I'm hoping I'm missing something simple on this.

    Ya the landing page is disappointingly simple.  But creating your own splash page is surprisingly challenging with all the different devices/browsers/screen resolutions.... So in a way the simple Central Guest page is good in that it almost always works.  Something not obvious is that some of the fields will accept basic HTML markup so you can pretty it up a little i.e. formatting, bold, bullets in the ToS...

     

    HP's comically frustrating answer is ClearPass which is like killing ants with a ballistic missile and almost as expensive to deploy.   It would be nice if they offered something in Central with even a little more formatting customization.

     

    I have not trialed anything myself but I believe there are several 3rd party hotspot management services that you can subscribe to; like hotspotsystem.com, that can plug into the Aruba APs that offer you more customization.

    I agree Jimmy, something with a little more customisation to offer a polished splash page that looks good. ClearPass is a great product but its a lot of money for a nice looking splash page for a simple guest network.

    I may have to look outside the Aruba environment for a solution here.
