Trying to automate the backup procedure without using the data puller software. Clearpass is currently performing daily autobackups.. I will write a script to grab this file and offload to another system Where is this autobackup file being stored?
No, I am on 6.4.4. Maybe worth it to upgrade?
O you mean page 442? I already have the autobackups working.. I need the location of the file so I can offload it.
within the centOS directory
Cappalli made a typo. check the clearpass 6.5 userguide on page 522.
Or check "Administration » External Servers » File Backup Servers" on a 6.5 CPPM.
You'll see how to configure an external backupserver that is configurable for SFTP or SCP.
OK, I upgraded to 6.5 and setup a file backup server. Does it offload the backup file daily? how can I test the intitial communication?
It runs a part of the nightly houskeeping.... it should happen at about 1:10am.

That schedule is currently locked, correct?
Thanks.
Yes it is. I have an enhancement request to make it a configurable item, hoping it will arrive in our next major release 6.6.
may i know is the source from management port or data port?
mgmt port
Following this one, I am on 6.7 and I see no way to do a "back up now" or set my own schedule. (So can't test my credentials and settings yet, just gotta wait till 1:10 am tonight?
In order to test our setup, I had to call and put in a support ticket. They had to remote into our VM appliance with a support login and run a script that is already stored there. Seems like a pretty good waste of time if the script already exists.
