  • 1.  Clearpass Endpoint Profiling Update

    Hello All,

     

    I do have an "issue", that couldn't find a way to solve by now, not even been able to find anything in the forums.

     

    I have an Endpoint in the endpoints database, that was profiled using DHCP. It shows with an IP address, computer name, etc.. The last time this device was profiled, was on 2018. 

     

    This endpoint been changed to another VLAN, using static IP address, and in the endpoint database, still shows with the old IP that got in 2018 by DHCP.

     

    Is there any way to update the profile information in the endpoints database? Any way to update all the endpoints profiles for the ones that been in DHCP before, and now are using static IP Addresses? 

     

    I tried with a Network Scan, but the endpoint is not updated with the new info.

    Have you seen the ClearPass Active Profling Technote here?  https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=a00100327en_us

     

    Your options are probably through SNMP or DHCP with a reservation.

    Hello

     

    I followed the guide for reading ARP table from the switch and made network scan, and after a couple of day, the endpoint been updated with the new Static IP Address.

     

    However, still the Static IP Field shows as FALSE when should be TRUE. However, this is not an issue.
