    Dear Experts,

One of the hospitality customer is using Opera as HMS. Its integrated successfully with clearpass and we can see the room numbers and guest in the show usage page. However how we can use this information for authentication? i cannot see the same info in the guest accounts? any idea how to do use this information for authenticating guests?

What is the use-case for guest portal?  Where exactly in ClearPass does Opera publish the attributes?  Into the guest database?

On the guest portal there are two ways to login.
    1) guest last name and room number
    2) voucher code

We can see that after successful integration with opera, under hotspot transaction processor, we can see the guest along with their room numbers. They are not in guest accounts. Clearpass does authentication of guest users from guest accounts.

So how to do authentication in this case?

I think you need to ask Opera exactly how their integration is designed to work.

They have already done their part. We can see the room numbers and guest last name etc. How they are supposed to tell what needs to be done in Clearpass?

As guests check in and out of the hotel, Opera will push updates to ClearPass so that we always maintain a local copy of a guests check-in status in the hotel. If a guest logs on for internet access, we will update our local copy and also push that information back to the Opera PMS.

When you create the self-registration form with the Hotspot option checked, the fields created will be customized depending on which transaction processor was chosen. If you chose a credit card type processor, it will create a setup geared towards credit cards with fields for billing information. If you chose a PMS transaction process, it will include fields for room number. If you change the transaction processor on an existing guest registration, you will need to add/remove the credit card fields and room number/reservation_number fields.

You mentioned that clearpass keeps the local copy of guest enrolled in Opera. How can we access it to do authentication?

Right now we first have to register guests based on their room.number and last name and only after that i can authenticate guest on captive portal. Is there anyway i can do authentication without registering guest user?
