We are migrating to a new ClearPass server. Platform is activated and everything seems to be working without issue.
However when I attempt to activate our permanent Access, Onboard and OnGaurd licensing we recieve the following error:
"Error reading license information. Please retry..."
Running 6.11.5, has anyone seen this before? Licenses in question were initially purchased in 2019 but I was told they could be migrated as they are permanent. Will open a case with TAC regardless.
Does your ClearPass cluster have reachability to Aruba's licensing portal?
Thanks for responding, yes it would appear so.
I was able to activate my ClearPass platform over-the-air and also pull updates via HPE Passport.
If a license have been activated before you have to contact TAC and ask them to enable the license for activation again.
In the ticket to TAC, provide the license serial numbers and license keys for all licenses you need to activate.
Only exeption is when installing 6.11 and activating the licenses for the first time after the 6.11 installation.
They l;icense code need to be for 6.8 or newer. TAC & licensing can issue new codes, They did that for us in January.
Thanks everyone for the responses here.
bosborne is correct, I had to open a ticket with Aruba support. They were able to generate new/updated license keys for us. The keys I had were severly outdated and did not match the new licensing format.
