  • 1.  Clearpass Licensing for Switch Tacacs

    HI,

I was hoping someone could clarify the licencing needs on Clearpass 6.7 or 6.8 for the following.

A customer has a large estate of switches/routers etc that he is looking clearpass  for Tacas Authentication on.  (50000 devices)

They have 250  engineers who look after these devices.  In terms of the licencing requirements, as the engineers devices are the  endpoints these are the devices we need to get access licenses for?  Even if they all logged into every single device everyday?  Or if they concurrently logged into all the devices would we need a license for each switch/router?

Also what is the difference with the new entity license in 6.8 to the access would this be more worthwhile?

After 100 Access licenses are added to the cluster, it operates with unlimited TACACS+ usage. The biggest design concern is size of appliances to handle the load.

TACACS+ is not available with Entry.
