  • 1.  ClearPass upgrade from 6.6.10 to 6.8.0 directly?

    Posted Dec 19, 2019 11:15 AM

    Probably an easy quesion:

When upgrading from 6.6.10 can you go directly to 6.8.0 and skip 6.7.X and any hotfixes or do you have to install all of the hotfixes and versions along the way?

I have both 6.7.0.xxx and 6.8.0.xxx listed as upgrade options (plus a few patches) but it would be nice to go directly from 6.6.10.xx to 6.8.0.xx and skip 6.7 all together.

(I'm aware of the lisence changes and the possible Mac address issue.)

You should check the 6.8.0 Upgrade Paths and Version Considerations

As I read you can do it directly.

    No problem as stated.

We just did an upgrade from 6.6.2 to 6.8.4.

    6.6.2 Cummulative patch 10

    6.8.0 prep patch

    6.8.0 upgade

    6.8.0 RPM rollback patch

    6.8.0 Cummulative patch 4

However we did hit a bug causing us to not be able to edit our captive portals and you need lms to do license **bleep** which they failed to do for us even though we opened a ticket weeks ago for it. Very disappointed in Aruba there but upgrade wise, it worked pretty well.
