yes generally you'll need to configure MAC caching. if you had used the wizard in clear Pass to create a Guest service, it would have created two services. One for captive portal redirection and the other for MAC auth if the guest account is still active.

Subject: Clearpass Web login captive portal
I am using "web login" method for guest network leveraging ClearPass. we will have user create a guest account, generate a username and password to login. It works well so far.
The question here is if a user generates password today, logs in successfully and return tomorrow with same client/device, user is required to go thru captive portal process (logging using previously generated username and password) . How do we make user bypass captive portal process since the user was authenticated once and account is still active on ClearPass side. we only want authenticated user to go thru captive portal process after account is expired. is this even possible or its just the way captive portal behaves ?
