  • 1.  Client role policy doesn't apply

    Hi,

im using a 7220RW mobility controller with 8.8.0.3.

I connected my laptop to a virtual ap with unrestricted authenticated role.

I changed the role (bandwidth limit) assigned to my virtual AP.  Disconnect the laptop.

When i reconnect the laptop the client gets the right role, but bandwidth limit is not enforced.

If i connect other devices (which did not connect when role was "authenticated") it works fine.

How can i force the role change, and apply policies?

I tried blacklisting the client, and then allowing it again. But still not bandwidth limit is enforced.

Thanks, and sorry if my message is not clear. Ill try to explain more if it is the case.

First, that is now ancient and unsupported code, upgrade to the latest 8.10 or newer.

Second, do you have PEF licenses applied to the controller and activated?

    Hi.

If you have a PEF license, then create a new role with correct bandwith contract and assign it to the client. You can use User Derivation Rules to assign the desired role to the client.
