Hi I have a problem with my Compaq Wl110 Wireless PC card.

When i Insert it into my Ipac or my laptop it install fine, and XP tellsme that "the device is working correctly" but when i look at the mac-adress it is 00 00 00 00 00 00 and it should offcourse bee something else. Therfore the card is unable to connect to anything.
Any suggestions or ideas that could help me telling the card it's real mac adress (the one stated on the back).

    I would appriciate any help.

    Best regards..

Try this site. This gives the best explanation. And its not that clear. But it may help.

    Hi Aaron

Thanks for your input. Im Sorry to say that it did'nt help. In the meantime we have tried the card on another laptop with the same result.
Windows thinks that the device works correctly but, the card dosnt have a mac-adress. :-(

    Best regards

The MAC has to be burnt into each card individually. Assuming the card has never worked and that this is not just an XP fluke, it appears that your card may have missed this step. Can you return it to Compaq?

You might want to contact Compaq about it even if the card is out of warranty.
