  • 1.  Configure static AP channel, Running 6.5.4.12

We have inherited a older MM running 6.5.4.12. We are in the process of migrating it to 8.10.0.X. To help fix an channel interference issue we would like to set some of the AP radio channels to static channels. ARM is not really doing anything. Can someone point me to the CLI or GUI command to make this change?

I've only ever accomplished this with custom regulatory domain profiles. Essentially you can select which channel(s) you want allowed and then do an AP-specific or AP-group assignment of that profile. I would recommend AP-group as you could identify which APs go to which channels and just group them. If it's only a few, AP-specific is equally as easy.

Not sure if there's a better way, but this has worked for me in the past testing client compatibility with UNI-II channels.

    Good luck!

I had thought about a profile per channel. There are 70 APs in the environment. So I would need 15 to 20 profiles. I was hoping there was another way to do it. Thanks

Mobility Master, now Mobility Conductor, is only available with AOS 8.  If you have an MCR then allow AirMatch to run and see what results you get.  AirMatch does a much better job of generating an RF solution than the isolated per-AP results of ARM.

If you don't have an MCR then the controller is going to still use ARM.  Static channels can be set in the radio profile when AirMatch isn't being used.
