    Hello!

I have a network already in place running two HP 5700 series switch in IRF mode. I have Aruba switches in access/distribution layer. Basically its only two layers. I have HP 5700 in core layer and Aruba switches are next to it with users and servers are connected to it. I have around 12 VLANS for different purposes and VLAN interfaces are connected to FW with VLAN Trunk between Firewall and HP 5700 switches. The current setup works fine.

Now I have to configure two HP 5900 series switch in our Test environment and will replace a old router. The HP 5700  are connected via layer transport link with point to point IP address.

I will connect the HP 5900 series via layer 3 point to point IP as well.

I am planning to configure a MGMT IP address from 10.1.1.0/24 subnet on MGMT port on the HP 5900 series switch because 10.1.1.0/24 will not be used in the TEST LAB for routing/switch purpose.

I am planning to configure IRF on HP 5900. I have never configured it before but I can do it without conflict with HP 5700 as they will be connected via Layer 3 link?

I am planning to configure HP 5900 STP as .

    stp instance 1 priority 32768

    My HP 5700 has

    stp instance 0 priority 8092.

    Instance  VLANs Mapped
       0         1 to 4094

Should I create another instance for MSTP or I can use the same instance as 0 and higher the priority for 5900 series switches?

Does this look ok from MSTP prospective and for IRF I can create different Domain ID like 10 so that it will not interfere with my HP 5700 or as they are two different region then it doesn't matter?

I am uploading the network topology pic as well for review.

Thanks for your input on this.
