Dear all, this is my first time I use HP products in my enterprise network. So, kindly I need your support from time to time.

Now, I need to create vLANs in my network, and I’m using HP ProCurve Switch 2810-48G J9022A switch. So, how I connect to the consol of this switch to manage it and edit the proper configuration?

    Regards,

    look for
    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/networking/software/2810-QIG-June2006-59913844.pdf

The quickest and easiest way to minimally configure the switch for management
and password protection in your network is to use a direct console
connection to the switch, start a console session, and access the Switch Setup
    screen.
    1. Connect a terminal device to the console port and display the switch
console command (CLI) prompt (the default display).
    ProCurve#
    2. At the prompt, enter the setup command to display the Switch Setup
screen. The Setup screen with the default settings is shown below.

that is connect the console port of the switch to a serial port on your workstation.
configure the serial port as 9600Bd 8 bit no parity (mostly default)
start a terminal emulator using this serial port (COM1:).

other option : from the same document,
By default, the switch is configured to acquire an IP address configuration
from a DHCP or Bootp server. To use DHCP/Bootp instead of the manual
method described in this chapter, see â DHCP/Bootp Operationâ in the
Management and Configuration Guide, for your switch, available on the
    ProCurve Web site.

    good luck
    Pieter
