    Posted Mar 24, 2007 03:30 PM
Hi. I losed the cable to connect my procurve 2524 switch to the serial port of my computer. Does a standad serial cable works to connect to hyperterminal? Do i need a specific cable? which? lot of thanks.

You can use any console cable that comes with any HP ProCurve switch, if some netadmin you know has and is willing to help you.

The cable is a standard DB9(F) - DB9(F) nullmodem so you can buy a cheap one from your local datastore.

Null-modem cables is a cable connecting following pins:

    1---7
    7---1
    2---3
    3---2
    4-6,8
    6,8-4
    5---5
    G---G
