That is correct. Some (competitors) claim that there is a one-direction conversion with Aruba, but you can switch between Instant - CAP - RAP - AOS10 mode as long as the AP support it. Just conversion of an Campus AP product (which is only available for the AP 1xx-3xx series, so the APs without country code) to Instant mode is not officially supported (but sometimes seem to work nevertheless). The conversion method that you found is just supported to convert Campus AP to AOS 10.

CLI command on Instant or AOS10 AP to convert to a controller would be:
convert-aos-ap cap 192.168.31.16
... where 192.168.31.16 is the IP address of your controller. The AP will connect to the controller, download campus AP firmware and reboot. It probably will set the 'master-ip' as well, so ADP or other controller discovery is by-passed. Instead of 'cap' as second statement, also 'rap' can be used to convert to a Remote AP connected to the same controller.

to revert back to Campus AOS8 is basically to get access to the console of the AP and type a command to convert t back (can't remember the exact commad)
once that is done, then remove the Aruba Central AP subscription.

So to revert it back i take out the license of the aruba central for that AP. And it will act like a normal AP with Aruba os8 and will download the firmware from the controllers with the ADP if i connect it on the same vlan of the controllers?

Im just trying to understand
What i said up there is not totally true as i can see because it do have the aruba OS firmware but what i can do is take downt the license, and maybe try to delete it?
Or i don tknow if a factory reset could work?
In my example the controller has all the license for that AP to recive it. I just want to know the procedure for the rollback of the AP of Aruba OS 10 to Aruba OS 8 is correct.
Thanks

you can refer to AOS10 Adoption guide
yes you can convert AP-325 to run AOS10 and be managed by Aruba Central.
you can also revert back to controller based AOS8 from AP-325 that was converted to AOS10. just ensure the target controller has adequate AP licenses.

Hello
If i have a controller with mobilty master
i want to convert a 325 CAP to aruba central with aruba os 10
I understant that i can upgrade it, the documentation says that if it does not start with DD then it works

Or im wrong in this part?
The orther question
if for some reason i need to convert back my AP 325 that is now with aruba os 10 on the cloud to Aruba os 8 managed by the controllers and the mobility master it is possible? or its a one way convertion?
If its possible how you can do it?
Thanks
