    Hello pals,

For the mentioned switch, datasheet only says it has a 2.2 GHz CPU. Is there a document that talks more about that CPU? model, and number of cores?

    Regards

If not mistaken, it should be AMD x86 8 Core

Always check information in more detailed in HPE psnow, it is usually there: https://www.hpe.com/psnow/doc/a00059009enw

If not, try reaching your Aruba/HPE Partner-Reseller

Why do you need this information? This information is not publicly available but can be shared by your partner or HPE Aruba contact person.

It is not the one that is mentioned by @shpat ;-)

    Hi Willem.

Answer to your question: because an end user is asking that question ... and why is he asking that?,  because he found that information available for other switch model (see picture below) ... Why for some switch models that information is public and why for some others that is not public?

I'm not sure why this information is not added for all switch models. I will ask internally why this is not added for the 8325-32C

Probably because it's not relevant to share the CPU details for switches. You can't really do anything with that information, the CPU just does the management of the platform and performance and capacity is handled inside of the platform (ASICs) where the management CPU does not play a role.

Hi! the implemented Management CPU is nothing particularly secret speaking about the internal architecture of a Switch: the Switching ASIC is, instead, another thing to care about (which is the most relevant part when really evaluating a Switch), eventually.

If I'm not mistaken - please correct me if I'm wrong here - the entire Aruba 8325 family (considering both the 48Y8C and the 32C models but not the newer Aruba 8325H family) uses an Intel Broadwell-DE (14 nm technology) Xeon processor for management purposes (ASICs connect to that processor). The exact model number should be, I'm quite sure (at least if HPE Aruba engineering didn't changed it along the way since first Aruba 8325 presentations), an Intel Xeon D-1518 with 4 Cores (8 Threads) each one running at 2.2 GHz SR2DN (V2), for instance that's confirmed here.
