  • 1.  CX LAG Connection issue

    Posted Jan 17, 2025 07:09 AM

    I'm in the process of trying to create standard LACP Layer 2 LAG's between some switches, in this case a 6300M (R8292A) and 6405v2. I'm using the 25GB interfaces as follows;

    6300M (Firmware FL.10.13.1060)
    1/1/27
    1/1/28

    6405v2 (Firmware FL.10.13.1060)

    1/4/45
    1/5/45

    The 25Gb links are up on both ports on both switches, reporting the correct speeds with no errors. It's a pretty basic LAG config (no VSX), but the LAG won't come up and reports down.

    The config on the 6300M is;

    interface lag 20
        no shutdown
        no routing
        vlan trunk native 1
        vlan trunk allowed all
        lacp mode active
        hash l2-src-dst

    interface 1/1/27
        no shutdown
        speed 25g
        flow-control rxtx

        lag 20
    interface 1/1/28
        no shutdown
        speed 25g
        flow-control rxtx
        lag 20

    The config on the 6405 is;

    interface lag 20
        no shutdown
        no routing
        vlan trunk native 1
        vlan trunk allowed all
        lacp mode active
        hash l2-src-dst

    interface 1/4/45
        no shutdown
        speed 25g
        flow-control rxtx
        lag 20

    interface 1/5/45
        no shutdown
        speed 25g
        flow-control rxtx
        lag 20

    The LAG will not come up though for some reason I can't see.

    I'm happy to provide more info, but this is very strange. I never had a single problem with LACP trunks on the previous generation 5300/2530 switches - they just worked every time. Any help would be massively appreciated.

    Thanks
