  • 1.  different AOS for MM and MDs

    Posted Aug 17, 2021 04:52 AM
we are now running AOS 8.5.0.10 on MM and 23 MDs. There is one site/MD which plan to install AP 565 model and the minimum AOS for them is 8.7.1.0.

Can I install 8.7.1.0 for this particular MD and leave 8.5.0.10 on all other MDs + MM until planning the migration for all sites to 8.7.1.0 ?
Should I install also 8.7.1.0 on the MM ?....as I have found some recommendation that MM AOS  should be later than that on the managed devices

    thank you!

There is indeed MultiVersion support for different MM/MD's. That being said, there is some caveats to bear in mind. The MD you wish to upgrade, is this part of a cluster or a standalone MD?

To answer your original question... yes you need to upgrade your MM/Mobility Conductor. It is in that referred article around MultiVersion.

The Mobility Master can run an ArubaOS version that is either the same or a higher version of ArubaOS than the versions on the managed devices; the minimum supported version on both platforms is ArubaOS 8.2.0.0. (this is from the 8.4 release documentation...)
